I was shocked today to learn that Michael Crichton passed away on Wednesday. I am a huge fan of Crichton, which goes to show how busy I've been this past week. Having read every one of his novels (with the admission that I've not yet read State of Fear), I can tell you that even a disappointing book from Crichton was still packed with enough science and spectacle to keep you glued to it. He will be greatly missed in the medical, entertainment and publishing community.
I do hope they save his DNA.
