My brother and I didn't grow up with cable, nor MTV, but we had something better. Locally produced Detroit dance and video shows were absolutely amazing and The New Dance Show, still fascinates me to this day. One could even say I got my slick dance moves from it.
We were always glued to channel 62 (WGPR Detroit) any time this aired, and especially pumped to witness cameo appearances by a man we called Blacula, who danced in this crazy vampire outfit. It was just magic.
