scare tactics...

The best new show on television is this Honey, We're Killing the Kids, which on title alone is promising.

It's a reality show in which average American parents are given wake-up calls into their kids' disturbing eating habits through the magic of computer generated graphics that predict what the kids will look like in their teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, and so on til death.

It's amazing to watch not the parents, but the kids as they glance into the TLC's crystal ball exposed to the results of their snack-filled, soda pop upbringing.

Nothing like scaring the shit out of a 4 year old girl by sitting her down and saying, do you wanna look like THIS little girl?!

So I got to thinking if my contact at TLC could perhaps hook me up with my own personal computerized outlook on my current diet of Taco Bell, Coca Cola Blak, and popcorn.

Just look at what the future holds for me...

The EMO podcast...

Rachel and Todd ask important questions this week, like...

• Is Rachel turning into an old man who eats pie?

• Who is the black Tom Cruise?

• Did you have a bad day?

• Are we on Lord Xenu's shitlist?

• Are we now, or have we ever been "emo?"

get over it, nerf herders...

For those of you not aware, one of the great conspiracies in the Star Wars universe is if Han shot Greedo in cold blood.

Purists say "yeah, he did."

Special Editionists say "are you sure? I think Greedo got what was coming to him. It was self-defense."

In either case, this one cinematic hang-up has now inspired this lovely bookend set for all your Star Wars novels, picture books, and Ewok porn.

his inspiration, our inspiration...

The Tribeca Film Fest starts this week (if you're in town, be sure to see Steve Barron's new film Choking Man this Wednesday night).

Amex, the corporate sponsor, has outdone themselves again this year with an online competition of short films.

Be sure to check out the one from fellow blogger Jazz about his rescued cat from Katrina. Vote on it too, while you're at it.

why is logo so gay?

Have you seen this television channel Logo? It's really gay.

And I thought The Sopranos cornered the market on gay stereotypes lately.

huh huh, they said ass...

Today I took an online Workplace Harassment course.

I love that these are online now so that I can

a) Laugh at this in the privacy of my own office.

b) Share the screengrabs on my blog.

Here's what I've learned so far today...

(unless you work in television)

Be alert.
Massages in the workplace don't always include a happy ending.

Being taller than your subordinates allows for absolute power.

obligatory Cruise baby post...

In a strange scientific time space continuum way, born on the same day yesterday -

Katie and Tom's baby.... Suri

Brooke Sheild's baby... Grier

Just a thought, but wouldn't you pay to see this baby boxing bonanza?

ben and me...

Ben Franklin once said that "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."

Equally as wise as Ben was my Grandma Edie, who passed away yesterday after a brief struggle with Pancreatic Cancer, ironically on the very day our taxes were due to Uncle Sam.

It's been a rough week (hense my absense from this blog), but I'm in the company of many relatives as we remember the classiest lady I've ever known.

Goldman, Edith (January 17, 1920 – April 15, 2006)

Beloved wife, cherished matriarch, and constant philanthropist, Edith “Edie” Goldman was a true original. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by the many whose lives she touched.

An exceptional marriage of 63 years to Morris, their children are Linda Goldman Sokolove of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Bruce Goldman of Waban, Massachusetts. Loving sister of Jeanette Sandler, Milton Shaffer, William Shaffer, and the late Sylvia Goodman and Zechariah Suffers. Dear grandmother of Skyler Goldman, Adam and Melissa Sokolove, and Todd Sokolove. Great grandmother of Samantha Sokolove and Jacob Sokolove. Caring mother-in-law of Sherry Kachel Goldman and Bruce Sokolove. Generous Aunt to eleven nieces and nephews.

Edith was a life member of Hadassah. She was always happiest in the company of her family and friends. Never one to pass by a bargain, Edith loved to shop—especially for others.

As a lot of y'all know, The Ten Commandments airs tonight on ABC at 9pm (8pm Central).

Thou shalt watch, especially if you are a Nielsen viewer.

Also, benifiting Habitat for Humanity, is our online auction of the real props and costumes from the miniseries. They are really lavish, and it's a good cause, so check it out.

Moses' staff is mine though. You can't have it.
